Midwest Recovery Centers Discusses COVID-19 Stimulus Funds on KMBC
KMBC 9 News recently sat down with Midwest Recovery Centers CEO Jeff Howard and counselor Taylor Brown to discuss the temptation of using COVID-19 stimulus checks to purchase drugs and alcohol.
Howard shared anecdotes from his own experience to help highlight the issue, including the fact that members of the local recovery community have turned to him to help them responsibly manage their money.
“It’s really important that addicts and alcoholics who are coming into receipt of these additional funds are talking honestly,” Howard told KMBC.
